I made this collage canvas (picture didn't turn out real well) of Faeries to show all the new techniques we learned or enhanced in 2008. Crackle paint, Diamond Glaze, Embossing, Wood burning, Bees wax, and Fibers.

These are pictures of copies of ATC's Faith and I have made. It is hard to see the mediums we used. We love collage, and some of the mediums include, beeswax, diamond glaze, embelishments, heavy medium gel, acrylic paints, stamping and of course a varnish finish.

If you live in Fort Collins, have you been to this store? It is so fabulous! It is a mix between everything you could possibly want for creating unique art, and the coolest most eclectic
masterpieces you have ever seen by truly talented artists. What fun! We could spend hours perusing.
That isn't half of it though! You can take classes (pretty much any class you can dream up, they have) and hang out working on your own art there as well!

The ladies there are the kindest, most creative gals you could ever wish to meet, and very helpful as well!
Then there is the creative underground group! A chance to get to know ladies from all over the globe. Most excellent!
Then the cherry on top! The art swaps!! Faith & I just participated in our first one, and we are jumping out of our skin in anticipation of the final result! The past creations from the swaps are beyond words! Crazy cool!

Making a difference in the community

Throughout the past couple of years, reaching out to others has been a priority and privilege. Three years ago we started a group called Kids for Cancer Patients that met at an elementary school. What started out as a few kids coming out of curiosity, grew to over 30 who made crafts for the patients in the Oncology unit at PVH. Our group met for two years until we moved across town and felt it was time to move on to something new. Now the three of us (mom and two daughters) have launched Galatians5girls and spend our time making crafts to sell at various businesses. The money earned goes towards buying new supplies for our projects. Projects we often give as gifts, such as the steady supply of bookmarks we have for outpatients in Oncology. Visiting Respite kids has also been enjoyable. During one visit we brought along beauty supplies (nail polish, hair stuff, etc.) and spoiled the girls there. We raise money for charities as well. We have participated in Relay for Life, Light the Night, and March of Dimes. We hope to start earning more money so we can continue to make a difference in the lives of others. We want to recruit other mom/daughter pairs to venture out into the community with us. Feeding the homeless is the next community outreach we are planning for July.

Faith's Funky Footwear

Wearing a pair of boring ol' Keds just wasn't enough... so I jazzed them up a bit. I used a sharpie/rubbing alcohol technique just experimenting. The result was a really funky pair of technicolor shoes that I love. I have gotten a lot of super-cool compliments about the designs on them!
